Derek and Nate would like to one day live in “separate cabins, with a good woman and trusty dog,” but for now,
they have brought their Cold Mountain aesthetic to Brooklyn. Despite the flannels, suspenders, Woolrich and Sears Roebuck
pieces from the ’70s, you can not call them hipsters. Their jeans are classic boot cuts, their hair is long down to their waist inspired
by Native American culture, and they make their own bacon, eggs and coffee for breakfast. American workwear,
Pendleton and Shaker-inspired interior details, country and bluegrass music are not fads for the musicians,
roommates and high school best friend duo, but unvarying life forces from their past.
Of White Deer Township, Central Pennsylvania, where they are from, they say, “It is rooted in our souls.”

Derek and Nate are inspired by the music of Townes Van Zandt, Steve Young, Guy Clark, Emmylou Harris, Leon Russell, Gram Parsons, The Allman Brothers, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Black Oak Arkansas, and the Ozark Mountain Daredevils."

“If someone asked me why I dress the way I do I’d just say because it’s American. I have no desire to go anywhere else right now. There are a lot of good people who I haven’t met and a lot of good places I haven’t seen."
- Derek

“This is an owl that my grandfather painted. I had the original hanging on my wall for a while and I thought I’d get it tattooed to commemorate him. It’s a reminder of where I’ve come from.”
- Nate
